Meet D&H
Before founding D&H Jewelers, we worked in the jewelry business for over nearly 40 combined years, and increasingly saw a need for more transparency. We started really questioning how the gemstones and metals made it to our store – who mined them, and who was selling them to us?
Our personal buying decisions are based on the impact we have on our community, and we wanted our business to embody this same principal. We opened D&H Jewelers in January 2011 to make a change. As a modern design house, we strive to ensure that every piece is as unique and special as the person buying it.
Our atmosphere is warm and personal because we don’t want to build a customer base; we want to grow a community. Our products are ethical because, yes, sustaining our environment is essential, but nothing is more important than how we treat our fellow human beings.
At D&H, we provide a timeless experience coupled with modern values and sensibilities. We hope you’ll visit us, sit at our wine bar, and enjoy being surrounded by exquisite, ethically-sourced jewelry.
Our Design Team
Lindsay Daunell – President, Chief Designer
Lindsay co-founded D&H Jewelers on the principle of ethically made fine jewelry without any sacrifice to high design. With decades of experience in jewelry design, fashion design and pattern-making, Lindsay approaches design from the perspective of a couturier: high quality, handmade, individual. She designs with a nod to a bygone era when the design-house was the epicenter of emboldening individual personal style. Lindsay takes pleasure in creating modern day talismans, personalized jewelry that holds deep meaning to the beholder.
Shawn Higgins- CEO, Chief Designer, Graduate Gemologist
After traveling the world and working in the jewelry industry for over 25 years, seeing both the good and the bad, Shawn co-founded D&H Jewelers with the intent to create a transparent and sustainable model that had never been seen before. Shawn’s approach to design is “Old World.” Shawn loves building historical references into his designs and encourages clients to include their story as well. Whether it be classic or Avant-garde, he believes we can always reflect ourselves in these precious pieces.
